Treatment for addiction is not a single service. Depending on what the assessment finds, a programme may include medically supervised detoxification, daily psychiatric review, individual psychotherapy, group sessions, family counselling, medication, and structured aftercare once the person goes home.
The cost of a programme is essentially the cost of the clinical time and supervision involved. That is why a residential programme with 24-hour nursing costs considerably more than a weekly outpatient session — and why an accurate quote is only possible after someone has been assessed.
