About this test
The questions ask whether, in the past month, you have had nightmares or unwanted thoughts about a frightening experience; avoided reminders of it; felt constantly on guard; felt numb or detached; or felt guilty or blamed yourself.
Trauma responses are not limited to combat or disasters. Accidents, medical events, assault, childhood abuse and the sudden loss of someone close can all produce the same pattern.
Three or more yes answers is a positive screen. If that is your result, it is worth knowing that trauma-focused therapies work well, and that treatment does not require retelling every detail of what happened.
What your score means
| Score | Result | What it suggests |
|---|---|---|
| 3β5 | Positive screen | Worth speaking to a mental health professional. |
| 0β2 | Negative screen | Below the screening threshold for PTSD. |
If you are thinking about harming yourself, please do not wait for a test result. Call us on +91 72669 93399, call 112, or go to your nearest emergency department.
